              Edwin Carter's funeral in Masonic Lodge No. 47 on February 11, 1900, in Breckenridge, Colorado. The open casket is adorned with floral wreaths, vases filled with flowers, and two large feathers tied with a white ribbon; a pair of white gloves is draped over the side. One large floral wreath has a banner with the words "Edwin Carter Lodge 47 A F A M". Wearing white ceremonial aprons, E.E. Acton (on the right) and another Mason stand on either side of the casket, respectfully holding their hats. A man with a woman and small child are seated in the back corner against the wall.

              Freemason procession up Lincoln Avenue in Breckenridge, Colorado to the cornerstone dedication for the Summit County Courthouse on July 31, 1909. Members from Breckenridge Lodge No. 47 and lodges from outside Summit County, including Denver's Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M., gathered for the ceremony.

              Hand-colored photograph shows the Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M. and Breckenridge Masonic Lodge No. 47 procession walking east on Lincoln Avenue for the laying of the Summit County Courthouse cornerstone. The ceremony was held on July 31, 1909. Handwritten on the reverse: "Masonic Parade." Photographer's stamp: "O. Westerman, Photographer, Breckenridge, - Colorado."

The young men are dressed in sack suits, neckties and hats. Standing in the back row: [unidentified], Clyde McAdoo (on the right). Middle row: [unidentified], Oscar Paris (with white necktie), [unidentified]. Kneeling, front row: Harry Player, Bill Davis, [unidentified]. The two-story false front clapboard building has a glass storefront with an inset entry. Above between two sash windows is the Masonic symbol "G" enclosed in a square and compass and the number "47". Circa 1900s-1920s.

              The cornerstone for the Summit County Courthouse in Breckenridge, Colorado was placed in full Masonic ceremony on July 31, 1909. Freemasons from Denver's Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M. came by train to join members of Breckenridge Lodge No. 47 for the dedication. A crowd of well-dressed men, women and children gather around the wood platform to watch the cornerstone, or first stone, be placed in the northeast corner of the foundation (still under construction). In the foreground is an automobile filled with more spectators. In the background is Father Dyer Methodist Church, built in 1880, on its original site on North French Street; the church was moved to its present site on Wellington Avenue in 1977.
