A skier wearing an off-white wool sweater and black wool ski pants is airborne after hitting a kicker or hump in the snow. This maneuver is sometimes called "catching air". Holding metal ski poles, the skier's arms are outstretched, and knees pulled up high in a crouched position. On a ski trail through the trees at Peak 8 of the Breckenridge ski area in Colorado.
