Gold Pan Mining Company's Evans hydraulic elevator system and Gold Pan pit on the Blue River at the south end of Breckenridge. Excavation of the pit began in 1901, but the project was abandoned in 1905, leading to the pit being flooded with water. At the edge of the water, a man with his dog points his rifle at ducks swimming on the opposite side of the pond. Above the pit, smoke billows out from a train locomotive.
