Interview with Ric Rixon conducted 2018-04-30. Rixon originally came to Breckenridge around 1963 to go skiing with his dad. In 1966, his dad bought property in Huron Heights and began building a house. They came up to build on weekends through 1971 when Rixon moved to Breckenridge after graduating from high school.

He had met Bill Rounds in Aspen, and after Bill's father passed away, Bill invited Berge to the area to check out his lumber company. Berge decided to move to Breckenridge shortly after his son was born in the summer of 1960. His family stayed in Aspen while he worked on a place to live. He initially began working in the lumber yard and stayed in a house on Main Street. He would then help to develop the ski area.

He began working at the ski area on weekends while going to school. He didn't have a car, so he would hitchhike to the area every weekend. His first full-time job in the county was hanging drywall.

Bly was also a school counselor, EMT, and owned a janitorial service.
