Interview with Mark Cope conducted 2018-11-01. Cope's family moved to Breckenridge as the ski area was being built in 1961. They lived above the drugstore at the base of Peak 8. Cope was 11 years old at the time. The older kids had to go to Fairplay for school at the time.

In 1978, he and his wife had been selling artwork across the country and came to look at a couple houses before buying a place the next day. He lived upstairs from Fatty's in what was originally known as the Colorado House, built by the Peabody family in 1876.
Interview with Chuck and Sandie Struve conducted 2018-07-12. The Struves first moved to Breckenridge 1971-08-01 driving over Hoosier Pass. They had purchased the property where the Visitor Center now sits and built Wine and Cheese in front of their home at the end of 1971.
