Scope and content
A corner of the parlor room in Charles A. and Martha (Silverthorn) Finding's house on Main Street in Breckenridge, Colorado. Circa 1893. The carpeted interior has patterned wallpaper hung with ornately framed illustrations and photographs. Behind the polished cast iron parlor stove is an unused fireplace, with its opening covered by a metal sheet. Its mirror-backed mantel is draped in a floral print cloth and crowded with vases, a clock, framed pictures, statuettes and animal figurines, and brass candle holders. A chair sits in the corner near a bookcase topped with more decorative items and framed pictures. A large book is displayed on a metal book stand, probably the Family Bible.
