A sign hung on the window of the former Silverthorne Hotel with the words: "Formerly The Silverthorne Hotel - Established 1862 - Nationally Known Famous People Stopped At This Old Mountain Inn - Be one of them - Come In - You're Welcome - Rest Room - Wash Room." The building that housed the Silverthorne (or Silverthorn) Hotel stood from 1862 to 1957, when it was demolished. It was located on the west side of Main Street in Breckenridge, Colorado.
